Hello I know I have a bad wheel bearing,it has been howling for about 1000 miles, and gettin worse naturally.
My question is: How long will it howl before the wheel locks up or falls off or whatever its gonna do? Any ideas? How high on my priority list of fixing does this need to go? I replaced both front WB at 57k miles...now at 105k and they are howling again. Thanks! 99 4.3 4wd LT CS |

Re: Wheel bearing howl
Quote:
Only make sure it is the bearing that is making the noise. Tires and other things can setup a noise to. But if bearing or bearings are making a noise it is time to fix /replace them. Replace with the good quality OEM type bearings. The El cheap O or cheaper brands may not last long. Also if there is axle seal or hub O ring in there check/replace it to to keep the water out of bearings. And remember the bearing/hub is what holds the wheel and brake rotor on. MT
