AutoEnginuity code reader

I recently purchased AutoEnginuity domestic bundle as a code reader. Has worked well on my Ford F250. I used it on my 2000 Intrigue. It connect and shows no codes stored. I can view live data and then all values zero out and I appear to lose contact with the car. I'm using latest version 4.4.1 with USB support. Anyone else use this software and have such an issue? Working with the vendor and need to verify some connection setting to troubleshoot the issue. Impressed with the software as a tool.

Re: AutoEnginuity code reader

I am having trouble connecting to my 99 Intrigue and my GrandAm using a Dell Latitude laptop. Connected okay once and now nothing. I am going to try and use my Desktop and see if that is any better.

Re: AutoEnginuity code reader

I have not corrected the issue. It seems it might be related to the alternator causing the lights to flicker at times. The power fluctuation couldbe causing it to disconnect. I have been able to stay connected while sitting in driveway. In motion capturing live data causing it to loss connectivity.

I might replace the alternator to correct that issue and then see if AE stays connected. If you can't connect at all there might be another problem. Start AE. Check your AE connection settings and then connect.

Re: AutoEnginuity code reader

I took my desktop out today and tried it with no success. I have tried every possible setup, changing the baud rate on the PC from 9600 to 128??? and everything in between. Set buffers to minimum. Tested the cable and have come to the conclusion it has to be the AE interface. Used it three time and now nothing. Is it normally slow to connect. Seems like when I used it, it took some time to connect.
I will give them a call tomorrow to see what they can suggest.

Re: AutoEnginuity code reader

Sounds like you are using the serial interface. I have the USB. Any chance you can talk to them about switching over to USB. I think the USB would be much faster and more stable.
