spark plugs
My Mechanic tells me I should replace the plugs on my 97 Centry. I thought I can do that, but after looking at it I'm not at all sure> It looks like a tough job. Am I right??? Thanks Ruicky2l

Re: spark plugs
Spark plugs used to be something relatively simple that every car owner coul do. Nowadays there is alot of components manufacturers are trying to cram in a tight enough space due to engine orientation.
Still pretty much is a basic thing, but, with consumers falling into the clutches of platinum plugs 'lasting longer' and remaining in place longer, the more chance of damage can occur. Trust me although I have never broken a plug in 17 years, that record remeins in tact by me refusing some cars that I knew the plug would crack. If you'd like to try it and the plugs have not been in place for that long, by all means go ahead, however, seek the help of a neighbor that has some hands on experience, and use anit-seize on the threads of new plugs. Also, use AC/Delco parts and no gimmicks. |

Re: spark plugs
Its a tight space, but relativly easy. It will be aa bit time consuming considering the tight sppace, I think it took me half hour to an hour to change them on my '90. But I'm not to firmilliar with the 3.1 (assuming thats what you have).
