Hello Mate,

Is it harder than normal to turn the steering wheel, and the steering wheel does not self-center when you let go?

If this is your problem, this a "feature" of the MK3, whereby the Steering Column UJ siezes, and spraying WD40 loosens this up.

HTH.

Re: Steering stiffness

I dont have a Fiesta, but on several others cars, that symptom was a sign the regulator valve inside the power steering pump was sticking. It usually was worse when you first drove the car, and would improve after things warmed up. Sometimes flushing all the inky p.s fluid out would help, & sometimes it really needed a new p.s. pump. Usually the pumps were beginning to leak from old age anyway.
