96 Ciera power windows

I have an intermittent problem with the power windows on this car.
They will not always go up or down, and sometimes will go down, but not up.
There is no rhyme or reason to it. Somedays they work fine, however I had the drivers down the other day at the drive up window and it would not go up.....at -5 degrees

I have checked the circuit breaker, and even swapped it out with another one in the fuse block.....no change

Is there a relay somewhere I don't know about, or maybe it is just a bad feed wire. When this condition exists, the windows will not function on any of the switches, so I am guessing the power is all fed at the drivers door somehow.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

There are several wires that go to the switch in the drivers door. If you open the door and look at the front door jamb you will see the black flexible tube the carries the wires. Use a razor blade to slit it open. Check the wires for any worn through areas.
You may also want to check the drivers door switch, it could have gotten wet.

Finally got around to checking this out, and this did turn out to be the problem. Two of the wires, one which was the main feed, were barely holding on. After a couple of butt splices, they go up and down about twice as fast.
Thanks for the tip.
