2002 Envoy 4L60E transmission replacement
Does anyone know if the 4L60E transmission in my 2002 Envoy can be replaced witha a later model (2006) 4L65E transmission? At 58000 miles the infamous sun shell has given up and I am wondering if it would be better to install the newer transmission or just rebuild the one I have. Would the 4L65E have a beefier sun shell and sun gear?
Thanks! |

Cross post from trailblazer forum..
Hardware wise, it would probably bolt right up, but I'm not sure the software for the GMT360 chassis PCM is compatable with that trans. Word on the streets is, that sun/reaction shell issue was corrected sometime in ~2004 IIRC. That part of the trans is supposedly corrected now. Joel
