CARLAW- Rules to live by for all automotive enthusiast

What is CARLAW? Carlaw are the laws that all car-people live by. They are a code of honor, a way of life and those who live outside of them are a shame to the automotive community.

Who Writes the Carlaws? Carlaw is written by an elite group of men known as the Men Of The Automotive Order. Most are seasoned street racers but more importantly they are veterans of the automotive world. Thier years of experience have earned them the recognition as leaders to decide these laws.

CARLAWS:

- Make sure you use caution and care before you race. You get busted, there's no more racing for you! Make sure you have open roads, and don't endanger those around you. And watch out for cops! Race on streets or highway that you know are well layed out and safe to travel at high speeds. i.e. no road construction, pot holes, road scars ect...
never race in traffic!

- RUN WATCHA BRUNG!!!!! Don't hunt for reasons for someone to take off parts on their car, or reduce the amount of boost (i.e. telling them to leave their boost at 13psi instead of 20, having them take out their nitrous).
You bring it, you race it, you win, you lose, no excuses.

- Don't "race" your buddies car(this means, dont tell an opponent I know a guy with so and so) when talking shit because you don't own a car of your own that is worth a damn. Racing your buddies car is as cool as jacking off while taking a dump.

- No excuses. You lose and it's your own damn fault. Don't hunt for excuses (i.e. your car needs a tune up, clutch is slipping when you have a new clutch in it, carpet got stuck underneath gas pedal, windows were open, had my 100lbs. girlfriend with me, etc...) Reliability is part of the cars overall performance. If your car cant hold together then you loose based on bad performance.

- Congratulations are in accordance to racing. You win or lose, no matter what congratulate your opponent. A thumbs up or a simple "Good race" will make the experience all the better.

- Picking on what would normally be a slower car than you is considered a waste of time, effort, fuel and not worth the risk. the only exceptions that justify racing weaker opponents is when:
a - If you have reason to believe otherwise that a normally slow vehicle has been modified in true sleeper fashion then you may proceed with caution and at your own risk. However if said sleeper car does turn out to be nothing but a stock vehicle but looks fast, then by no means do you ever consider it a kill.
b - Unless driver of said car is a douche bag and thinks he's fast then you're in the right to show him where he stands in the food chain.

- If you have a problem with someone, under no circumstance and with no excusses do you ever take it out on thier car. Only the worst of cowards fuck with others rides.
This law may be voided if someone messes with your car however, at that point all bets are off!

- If you are messing with a friend's car with no intention whatsoever of doing harm but rather for comey's sake, like in the case of a wedding or a graduation, then you must keep it to a limit.
Do not do anything that will harm the car, scratch or stain the paint or plastics. Keep in mind the hassle of having to clean it all up and the cost of repairs if damage is done. If you are not sure of what will and wont damage a car then clearly you do not belong around one and must therefore keep all hands off.

- If a bird shits on your freshly washed or waxed car shoot it, shoot all his friends too, blow thier heads off till they all learn no to mess with your car!

There is no need for a humungous spoiler, it is not cool, nor is it needed. A factory spoiler provides enough downforce fo any street situation. Unless you are doing different types of organized events there is no need for an aftermarket spoiler that makes your car look like it would give Free-Willy a run for it's money.

Do not pick on a racer for having what appears to be a slow car. just because it looks slow does not mean that it is and when you see the tailights of said racer's car, you will know all that is a sleeper.

Beware the sleeper.

Also beware the civic.

Adendum 1 - If you have reason to believe otherwise that a normally slow vehicle has been modified in true sleeper fashion then you may proceed with caution and at your own risk.

Adendum 1a - If said sleeper car does turn out to be nothing but a stock vehicle but looks fast, then by no means do you ever consider it a kill.

Adendum 1b - Unless driver of said car is a douche bag and thinks he's fast then you're in the right to show him where he stands in the food chain.

Re: CARLAW- Rules to live by for all automotive enthusiast

We must discuss these carlaws first gents.
Let the other members give thier input and opinions. Dont just assume everyone agrees with you and declare CARLAW for yourself!
start a thread with said topic. We dont have to waste bandwith so we can discuss more then one item per thread and then once a few members have gotten involved, only then may be declare it CARLAW.

If declared then Andy will write it into the book and we will post it on this sticky.

which btw, thanks Matt for hooking it up with the sticky. Mad thanks bro.

Good idea, this thread will get way too big if we keep going with our random ideas. So let's bring them up one at a time as they come up... we'll vote in the threads and then add it to this thread.

And not a problem Mushman.
