2001 is overheating

Last night my car was driving on the highway and it was overheating. And i'm pretty sure that it is because of the coolant was leaking. The temperature guage showing at the redline. But I manage to got home after 30 miles. I got home, and right in front of my driveway the engine start shutting off by itself. And smoke came out from the hood. I open the hood and check the coolant and it was completely empty. So I decided to fill the coolant again and try to start my car to see if it work and obviously it didn't start. I know that this gonna cost me a big time to get it fix. What would you suggest? How can I get it fix with cheap price because i'm so broke right now.

I know you'd probably ask "why the heck are you so stupid driving while the car is overheating?" I was desperate to get home because I was so exhausted working in the hospital for 10 hrs. Now, If you ever had this kind of experience please let me know a solution for it.

Thanks
