Exclamation "87 Toyota Pickup Getting Called to Step Up

Ok, I am currently a highschool student in a small redneck town in Iowa (no affense to rednecks). And as you could guess alot of the guys and even girls drive big or fast trucks and cars, and are constantly making fun of my '87 Toyota Pickup Extra Cab 2x4 22r four speed overdrive. They are constantly giving my truck crap sometimes going to the point of vandilism breaking windows, denting side pannels, scratching racial and shamefull remarks to me and the truck (if you couldn't tell by the screen name I'm Asian lol but only a fourth and I'm six + foot tall so I hear about that quite a bit lol) and I am sick and tired of it. I was wondering if any of you guys had any of the same problems with punks messing with your trucks and calling them out for races and how would you resolve that. I want to make my truck fast as hell and make it handle like a dream but I'm a highschool student working long hours to save up for college. And with conscientious pearents not wanting me to spend to much money on the truck because they think it is an embarassing peice of junk and refuse to acknowledge my love for cars and trucks. But I like my truck and I have grown atachted to it and want to persue my passion and would like to show everyone that a Toyota can compete with the big trucks and it is not just a cheap riceburner. If anyone of you guys could give me a hand to show them what a Toyota can fully do, or just how it could be done under a tight money situation, it would be greatly appreciated.

No, don't stoop to their level.
An asian friend of mine was in college out that way and had to pull out after a year because of shit like that.

As for more HP from a 22R, it won't be cheap. Check out LC Engineering and DOA Racing. Toyota engines are their speciality.
Also there's www.engnbldr.com for good prices and service on engine parts.

Good luck

Yeah but money is pretty tight for me and being my truck is my only way around it can't be in the shop long either i was thinking of going to a junk yard but then I realized that finding parts for my toyota would probably be near impossible if it is hard enough finding them new
