'93 clicking noise after angine WARMS UP!
I've noticed lately that my car is making a clicking noise when the engine warms up. It is really weird: I can can predict when the noise will start just by looking watching the temperature gauge. Once it reaches certain temp it starts. It's a very distinctive sound like a diesel clicking. When it's cold it runs like a charm so it's a very different issue than carbon deposits. It's almost as if the engine wasn't getting enough oil but the oil pressure looks just fine and it would be noticeable with cold engine. So I really don't have a clue. Any ideas are appreciated.

Re: '93 clicking noise after angine WARMS UP!
You did not mention engine type....
If that is a 3.1, then I suspect the "trade mark" piston skirt slack these engine are known to exhibit...same as early 3.0 Taurus I had the displeasure to own.. I remember mine had started after a very cold start... If that is the case, it has no direct consequence..except being really annoying. A short time after starting to show though, this noise would be heard even cold... I'd like "sounds" to be posted in the same way we post pictures: most digital camera have a sound recording facility and the sound file can be extracted easily. Come back with more details...
