I can't go any lower (Toyota Soarer)...

I couldn't make up my mind on what to do with this kit. At first, I thought it was a cool model because it had an aerokit so I ordered it. I got it and thought it was pretty nasty looking so I decided to build it as a factory car. Then I started to fit parts of the aerokit and thought it didn't look too bad. So I started to cut the necessary holes to install the various vents/ducts. Then I thought "What the heck am I doing?" But now that aerokit is on and I have lowered it, I'm beginning to like it again. Anyways, here are the teaser pics...

Re: I can't go any lower...

Just put the decals on for the interior. It was my first time using custom decals I printed from my computer. Didn't turn out too bad:

Re: I can't go any lower...

Maybe. But it's an old school car so it can get away with it. I hope to do this interior on my next build:

Cool build, nice job with the decals and all, might recomend a dull coat to make them less shiny and more like cloth, also id hold the can up a bit higher than normal so the paint builds different almost with a texture to it, bunch of mist coasts. Keep the progress comin!

Re: I can't go any lower...

Funny, I did that this morning!! I used Mr. Hobby dull coat. It sorta messed up the original decals on the front seat but it didn't effect the decals I printed.

Oh, I know. It fits the time era. As far as stretchy tires, it crossed my mind but I'm gonna stick with the wheels it came with. I do have another build that has some stretchy tires on it. I think if you like this soarer model, you'll like the next one. Same time era and I don't think I've seen one on here (TE72).

The decals were included...for the front seats only. I scanned and modified them on photoshop so that the rear seats can have the same pattern as well as the side panels. More progress soon....

PS
Nice to see you're still on here El Krammito!!

Re: I can't go any lower...

Wow, it took me a year to make progress on this...

Since these last pictures, I smoothed out the body and thought about going with a dark red top/black bottom two tone paint scheme. I managed to paint it red and decided I actually didn't like it. I scuffed it up and primed it and it sat for the better part of 6 months. Just a few days ago, I wondered why I stopped working on it so I grabbed it and just said "I must finish this" so instead of trying to make more "custom" ideas, I just decided to do it box stock. I painted it Tamiya Racing white with Tamiya clear on top and just applied two decals on the sides so far. Pics will be up later. My only issue now is that there's alot of paint on the rear trunk. It didn't come with decals for the emblems and they are practically gone now. I'm gonna try and mask off the trunk and scrub it down with some thinner and repaint the trunk section later...unless anyone has a better idea.
