Need help swaping 350 into el camino!!!
I have a 79 El camino and it had the 231 v-6. I bought a 350 and tranny. I know I have to change motor mounts and springs but do I have to change the wiring harness? Anything else I am forgeting. Is it true I could of used my v-6 tranny on the 350?

Re: Need help swaping 350 into el camino!!!
If the transmission was a TH200-4R, it probably would have bolted up to the 350 using the alternate bolt pattern from the Buick.
As for the wiring, if the starter wiring reaches the starter on the 350, the rest should be easy to connect. The oil pressure sender wiring, distributor wiring, and choke heater wires should all fit easily on the 350, since everything is moving from the front to the rear of the engine. |

You may need a different transmission crossmember. Not sure though.
