My wipers are snobs.

They're stuck up.
I have a problem with my 97 Grand Prix GTP. We were expecting a blizzard last week (which we received in full force) so I shut off my car with the wipers up and pulled them away from the windshield so they wouldn't freeze to it.
Now the wipers park in the upright position. It's strange, when I shut them off they seem to attempt to park down where they're suppose to, but they then go up and stop.
I can't remember if it started first thing in the morning after clearing the windshield or not. There was a lot of ice built up at the bottom of the windshield that I had to chip away and I wonder if I damaged something. This car has more bells and whistles than I've ever had on a car so I wouldn't doubt if I broke something. But what did I break?
