94 Cavalier Signals

Hey,

my cars signal lights have stopped working. Im fairly sure that its the ballast (i think?) that is burnt out/broken. I know where the 4 way one is (small cylinder shaped silver thing with 2 prongs) But i cant seem to find the other one. I think it should be under the steering wheel around the fusebox but i cant seem to locate it.

Could someone explain where it is? Even a picture would be great.

Thanks!

Re: 94 Cavalier Signals

I think that the same relay that flashes the 4 way hazard lights also flashes your turn signals.

Check your turn signal bulbs carefully to see if you have a burned out filament. If you have a burned out bulb, your flashers will not flash and the green arrow on your dash board will stay lit. When you check your bulbs, you might also inspect the bases for corrosion to make sure that they are making good contact.

Good Luck!

The green arrows on my dash are never lit though, they never come on when I try to signal, but when I put my four ways on everything works very well (the signals on the dash light up, and all four turning bulbs work.)

Any other suggestions?

Re: 94 Cavalier Signals

according to Haynes manual "The turn signal flasher is retained by a clip and mounted near the conveniance center or next to steering column." AutoZone says passenger side of steering column. hope this helps. Here`s a thought go buy the new one first and then you`ll know exactly what it is when you see it in car .
