Re: oem parts
Car plants build only some of the parts they assemble, mostly they buy outside from big parts makers. These actual part manufacturers sell also in their own brand names, cheaper (stealership costs are higher for various reasons like: greed, need to quarentee availability eg stock size/cost is big, greed, "original" stamped packagin 'costs', plus greed, etc).
'Noname' products may sometimes be also cheaper due to shoddy quality and cheaper raw material, take care.
The big sparepart brand names /shop chains have similar interest keeping up quality (=keeping customers) as dealerships but generally are cheaper; they sell only hi volume products. I go to Nissan only if price is on par - or angrily when it$ the only source. Here locally this means that I will only buy oil filters, o-ring seals from Nissan...
Here the 'made in germany' -stamp means +20% spareprice, but mostly it doesnt give any surplus value. In parts needing laborous replacement procedure, I recommed buing best available, but parts like muffler or battery where the cost of swapping is minuscle to the actual product, the lower price is more cost efficient.
