92 Maxima High emissions at low speed
I have a 92 Maxima and I went to get it inspected and it failed for high emissions at low speed. Can anyone tell me what the problem might be, I just replaced the ignition coils because they were bad and it was always loosing power and stalling. The power/stalling issue is gone but I cannot get it to pass. I have to admit that the car was not really that hot when I got it inspected, I was wondering if I took it on a nice highway drive if it would make a difference.
Thanks, Bob |

Re: 92 Maxima High emissions at low speed
Do self diagnostic tests give any clue?
Cat has to be hot; 2min at 2500rpm before test. Tester should make that... Air leaks from brittled vac tubes, replace. Leaking injectors (cleaners may hlp). And then some: see link below...

Re: 92 Maxima High emissions at low speed
honestly: change your oil right before you get inspected. i have seen it personally that it helps.
that and yes, hold rpms up before going in to test like the signs they should have posted, but most people ignore. newer cars have heated o2s which can read gases at 600F or somethin like that...
