1999 Ford Windstar 3.8 L (Fuse Keeps Blowing)
I have a 1999 Ford Winstar LX with a 3.8 engine. The number 10 fuse keeps blowing. It calls for a 10A which seems to control the temp, the speedometer, and the odometer. A couple of months back I put a 20amp fues in the 10 position (calls for 10amps) and it didn't blow until recently, now even the 20amp blows in about 20 - 30 seconds. Gone though 3 20amp in 2 days. The only other thing I can think of, is that I replaced the original alternater around the same time, but I think it's the right Bosch part (I think ?). Any ideas what the problem maybe ??
Thanks, AvalonJohn |

Most often it is the pressure switch on the brake master cylinder ... usually knocks out the speed control also.
Just for a test, unplug the pigtail that connects to the brake master cylinder and see if a 10 amp fuse holds. |

12Ounce,
Thanks for your reply. I was looking at other posts and noticed that this might be my problem. Is it hard to replace and what does it look like? Do you know where I could find the part number ... either Ford ot Motorcraft ? AvalonJohn |
