New Celica Owner

Hey folks, I have been trolling the forums here for a bit now, and I must say its a kick ass information source. I just bought my 3rd Celica (I had an 86 GT-S back in high school, and I had an 87 ST I used for a beater awhile back). I now am the proud owner of a 2004 GT (hey, its only got 19K on it!). Anyway, just introducing myself!

Re: New Celica Owner

well you had it worse then I did but the factory warranty it WELL worth is because during the period of 6 months a had to get new short block assembly(pretty much new engine), new strut mounts and towers, and brand new transsmission so i got hella lucky. its pretty much a brand new car. Ill be driving around my GT untill i graduate out of college for sure.

Re: New Celica Owner

400 a month is not worth it especially when you are driving something thats really not that fast. if your a teenage guy looking for a fun car your fucked from day 1, its unfair as hell.

Re: New Celica Owner

I wouldnt say they arent fun. Dont go to the track with them, but they are more than fast enough to get you in trouble on the street. I mainly bought mine because i love the design.

Probably won't make you feel any better but, until I turn 50 (I'm 42 now) the insurance on my 1991 GT Conv is $320/6 mo. and was $380 for my (now my DH's) 2004 Montero Limited with a $1K deductible... The insurance company was dumbfounded when I wanted to know why... especially when the DH's coverage for the Montero is $308 and he had a wreck a year ago.

New "Mom" of a 1991 Celica GT Convertible that blew a radiator hose and the head the day I tried to bring it home... still not done with repairs... already at $3400... She's lucky she's good lookin' :madsign:

Re: New Celica Owner

yeah dude, i got 1 speeding ticket 3 years ago (84 in a 55) and they are still screwing me to this day. I loved the body so i went out to look for one, found a good deal, bought it and totally forgot about insurance and when i heard the insurance on the car i almost cried because the insurance every month is more then my car payment
