truck dies and won't start for hours

I have a 1975 GMC seirra with a 5.7L and a stock Carb. the truck will start and Idle but will die if left idling for more than 30 minutes and will die while driving down the road. and will not restart for sometime after that. I have repalaced the fuel filter and fuel pump but that wasn't the problem please let me know if anyone has any ideas thank you!

Welcome to AF. Do you have spark when this happens, is there fuel getting to the carb, basic diagnostics here.

thanks for the response! I have spark and I am getting fuel. I think I am having Carb problems not sure.
