02 blower motor problems
when car sits overnight and you start it in the morning the heater blower does not work right away. After driving for a few minutes the blower motor starts slowly and a little noisily then finally comes up to speed. I check all fuses and tried to check all connections. anyone have any advice? Once blow motor starts working it is fine,(no noise) and controls work like they are supposed to.

Re: 02 blower motor problems
Probably the motor itself is failing, I've had the problem on a couple of Taurus I own,, two things to do, one is to take the motor out, spray it out with brake or electrical cleaner, it may work for a while,, or two, just buy another new and install it... I don't believe the motor is too hard to access, might be a good idea to get a service manual, Chilton or whatever, to guide you..

Re: 02 blower motor problems
I had the blower motor in my 2002 SES replaced under extended warranty. It started running at different speeds then started melting the power connector. That's the only issue I've had. Seems like the blower motor was a weak spot in the car.

Re: 02 blower motor problems
As an aside, if you have the electronic temp controls, the system is engineered to not turn the fan on, in auto mode, until the coolant reachs a pre-determined temp..

Re: 02 blower motor problems
But the fan is not engineering to be noisy.
