94 dakota broken speedometer

I own a 94 dakota 4wd and my speedometer and odometer stopped working. At the same time my check engine light came on. Does anyone got any suggestions of what it might be or how to fix it?

Most likely the vehicle speed sensor or the sensor connector . I would replace them both .
