Keyless entry issue...

In Dec 06 the keyless entry stopped working. I brought it to the dealer who found a blown fuse, no reason for it. They replaced the fuse and reset the keyless entry.

Two months later it stopped again. I replaced the fuse. Now the keyless entry works except the doors will lock by themselves, without pushing the button on the key, about a minute after getting out of the car. Dealer can find no method to change this; no personalization options...

Dealer DID say there's a update that the fuse s/b 20 amp not 15.

Does anyone know how I can disable the auto-locking "feature"?

Now it seems that the car no longer locks by itself. Most perplexing. I won't change the fuse to the 20 amp until the 15 blows again. Who knows what it will do if I change the fuse?

the auto locking feature is a security feature. lets say you unlock your car with the intention to get in but you forget sumti nin the house or store or whatever. and as you hustle to your house or store you forget to lock your car, the car after 15 seconds will lock itself again to prevent anyone from getting in and makin off with your ride. i aint to sure if you would want to disable that or not.

Good point, but my main concern is that it behaves inconsistently. Sometimes it will auto-lock and sometimes it won't. The dealer can't really tell me how it SHOULD work; what is the correct action? When we bought it new it did not lock automatically. I guess we'd need to go to the dealer and check another Aveo.

have you thought about maybe going aftermarket and maybe getting a decent keyless entry system installed?
