fuel injectors
I have a 1988 4wd 1/2ton suburban with a 350 and tbi. Im just wondering how much fuel is supposed to be coming out of the jets when they are shooting out. Currently im geting a strong fuel smell and after changing the o-rings i no longer have a leak, but i still get a strong smell, while fixing the o-rings i noticed the jets look like they spit out a lot of fuel and wondered if that could be why i smell it so strong. Also wondering if to much fuel could cause something to leak.

Re: fuel injectors
The ECM will increase fuel based on inputs from the MAP, 02 and TPS.
If the MAP is bad (will not hold a vacuum or returns wrong value), the ECM could send too much fuel. I also had an issue recently where the vacuum hose to the MAP would not hold a vacuum causing problems. A bad O2 can cause the ECM to think the engine is running lean and give it more fuel. If you have access to a scan tool, it would be a good idea to see what the MAP, O2 and TPS are doing. //2000CAYukon |

Re: fuel injectors
Keep us informed of the situation and solutions. I am having the same problem with an 89 burb.
