03 CRV temp control light out

Hello all,

Question is regarding a 2003 Honda CR-V, EX.

To the right of the parking break, there are three control knobs that you can turn clockwise or counter-clockwise. One is for how strong the air blows, another one for the air temperature, and the last one for the direction of air flow.

Recently the light of the temperature control knob no longer comes on. It is more annoying than anything else.

I have tried to remove the plastic covering from below, and the control knobs themselves. They do not seem to budge.

Can anyone tell me how to go about removing the plastic coverings, so I can troubleshoot this problem further?
