Shift INDICATOR

Hey I got an automatic tranny, and for some reason all the sudden My Shift INDICATOR The thing under the speedometer, PRND12


Well Park is Reverse and N is Reverse D is Neutral and 2 Is Drive 1 is Second and than after on the bottom its 1


Understand? it is like the Needle thing is off. How did this happen? and is it an easy fix?

What year is your Mountaineer?

Also, your text description of the indications is not clear. Is basically everything shifted to the right one place? Ie: R is displayed in park, N is displayed in reverse, D is displayed in neutral, 2 is displayed in drive, and 1 is displayed in 2nd gear?

If so, it sounds like the cable is just out of adjustment. Will need to know the model year to give specifics on how to adjust it.

God Should of said what year it was in the first place its a 98
and yes it just shifted 1 place to the right.
