well since im a senior in high school and work 40 plus hours a week i didnt have time do a b16 swap on my dx, so i went and checked on insurance on a newer civic and new ford focus..i decided to get a 2002 ford focus zx3 but hey at least im getting a hatch still and im earning this on my own no mommy and daddy paying for my shit im paying my insurance too so i dig it, i dontreally care what ne one else thinks cuz im earning it i can get what i want, and obviously im gona treat it as if it were an import, it should be tite lemme kno what u guyz think of the situation, i find out tomorrow if my loan was approved, if it is i'll have the focuz hatchie on saturday.

ewwww....Ford.....gross. I got nothing against domestics, but Fords just seem to suck tremendous amounts of ass.

they aren't that bad. My friend just got a 2002 ZX3 also. He used to have an 89 teg, but it crapped out on him. First thing i woudl recommend would be to lower it, i feel like im in a minivan when im in his car, its soooo high.

not so harsh guys, not svt but it is dohc "zetec" and i plan on lowering it , but no im not gonna stop talking to u guyz i still love hondas and would rather drive a honda but i love the focuz too, and i cant afford insuranse on a newer honda and there r not ne 4th gens around where i live for sale, at least not ones that r not tv dinners

Eh.... zetec = wanna be/think you can be!
A friend of mine has had a zx3 for about a year now... he can't stand it. he wishes he'd stayed with his 99 Civic.
Hell, my 98 Civic EX WILL out run a zx3 EASY (do it all the time to my friend)... and my 91 will run circles around 'em just as easily once I get a D16Y8 in it... and I would pit the D15B that's in it now as an even match against ford's 2.0 "zetec" engine.

Just my opinion though

i tried to take my friend my d15 vs his ZX3. He whooped me

focus's have a good amount of torque so he just beat the heck outta me off the line. once i do a swap i'll be able to take him

My friend with the ZX3 read that a focus zx3 is quoted 130 something HP but when they tested it it only got around 100WHP. Sucks for them at least they still got torque :flash:

I remember my firt car that i bought all by myself, no help from mom and dad.It wasnt a brand new car.Do what ever you want and can afford, but dont sell your civic keep it as a toy to play with...

the zetec focus is an even match with my car

(well at least the ones i have raced 1.8 and 2.0 )hehe .... and the 1.6 escort zetec is a pile of pants that i can beat anyday

I used to own a mk4 escort 1.3 and it was a pile of pants ... i blew 3 engines up within 8 months lol ... well at least i learned how to do some engine transplants hehe..

KEEP your civic, go to college. Honda has a special financing plan if you decide to buy a new car out of college. they give you a pretty good interest rate as long as you don't have a thing on your credit, or in dealers terms a GHOST! that way when your school is out of the way you can have a tight Si or a RSX TypeS, or if your making lots of money a CL TypeS 6-speed:jump:

I say do whatever you want. Personally, I am not a fan of the focus, so I wouldn't buy one. I'd much rather have a protege 5 wagon :licker: (or keep my 90 Si, and spend my money on parts). It's REALLY REALLY nice to not have any car payments.

No. I'm too broke for a swap at this time. He'll have the car for a while, so i'll take him someday. Plus I won't go B16, since its not one of the easily legal smoggable enigines in Cali. I'm pretty sure i couldnt get a BAR sticker with a 1gen b16 swap in my car sine its a JDM-Only engine.
