laguna sports tourer fuel injection fault

hi guys,i've a 2002 laguna 2.2 dci sports tourer,it wont start as it says there is a fuel injection fault,also when i lifted the engine embellisher the engine was covered in carbon.Also when i accelerate thru the low gears i can see black smoke out the back.Anyone any ideas let me know thanx

Had same problem with same model/year car since it was 8 months old !!! EGR valve was replaced under a non-urgent recall - twice !! Most recently have had non-starting problem - local dealership had car in, ran all those fancy tests and found a poor connection to a high pressure pump sensor - since then it has happened twice more - such a shame cos otherwise it's a great car to drive !!
