doughnuts!

So... Ross Ade stadium was completely deserted except for 2 parked cars and one other person doing doughnuts for the hell of it. I decided to do doughnuts because so much empty space should not go unused! Anyway, I was in the middle of the most awesome and fast doughnut ever, and my engine died. One of my guesses was that the oil or gas all got forced to the side or whatever and my engine stopped, either as an emergency procedure or whatever. Is this possible or has this happened to anyone else? It started right back up when I put the car in park and turned the key, so no permanent damage done. Just seeking an explanation to quench my curiosity

Re: doughnuts!

That probly normal when running the DS out of it

Both of mine will die sometimes when you have been WOT for an exteded period of time.
Then as soon as you let off the throttle it dies

Probly due to the sudden vacum change
I was doing some rev donuts yesterday too in a kroger parking lot
A police officer was so kind to stoped by and told me I should go do that somewhere else
At least I didnt get a ticket.

I even tried to blow the motor in the GT for like an hour with WOT, that pesky rev limiter

Re: doughnuts!

well if it was anything like my cousins car, it probly stalled out because it thought you got in a wreck. on my cousins car she hit black ice and the car spun around for about 20 seconds and when it finally stopped the engine was off and the interior lights were on and the doors unlocked. luckily she didnt do any damage or hit anything. but yeah i think its a security feature or something.

Re: doughnuts!

last time I did dougnut in a car was 1978, the local constabulary put a stop to it as well. Do the GAs have an oil pressure sensor that will kill the ignition/fuel if the oil pressure drops below a certain threshold?

Re: doughnuts!

I forgot thier is an oil pressure sending unit by the oil filter
Though it has to be pretty darn low to kill the motor, not just from spinning around.
More like mjtr21 was saying the fuel shuts down when you are in an accident.

BTW heres one video aproved
Short due to the Pavement being partially dry in spots
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzjLpUP6sk8

Re: doughnuts!

Not bad for stock, just the CAI.

You wont see any SE snow videos
I try not drive it in the snow, mainly because of a**holes that cant drive.

And it just wants to spin spin spin

You dont see many donut vids from this vantage point either.

Gir, you seen the RWD GA on youtube doing the burnout in the parking lot?

Re: doughnuts!

Do a search on youtube for "V8" grand am videos.
The GA is black with hood scoops.
I always thought it would be a much funner car as RWD.
Probly not real hard to work out if you have some spare parts and time. THough I doubt it is street legal.

The SE moves, I just have to keep my foot out of it and keep the ETC "ON".
