honest, professional, and experienced mechanic in queens, ny?

just bought a 2002 camry xle and was wondering if anyone has experience or knows of a good mechanic shop in or around queens in new york city. i've been to several gas station service garages, however, the mechanics there just seem inexperienced. also, the managers like to sell more parts which aren't broken to fix the problem. i just need to get the timing belt changed and really don't want a bad mechanic to mess things up. thank you all.

Re: honest, professional, and experienced mechanic in queens, ny?

I once had a breakdown in the Bronx, just by the Throgs Neck Bridge. My power steering pump seized up and knocked the belt right off. I ended up getting the van towed to some nearby place and it turned out really well.

The manager, Majed, seemed really interested in my business because he explained the problem, showed it to me and I had my van back the next day, because he had to order a new power steering pump.
His people did a real good job. He also pointed out some other problems with the van I hadn't noticed, and asked if I wanted them fixed.

I got his business card and held onto it.
