What the heck is this thing?
I recently came into an old truck that seems to be a 69 or 70 Dodge. No paperwork. How can I tell what year it is? Dont see anything recognizable in the VIN or on the metal door tag. Thanks for your help. Ernie

Re: What the heck is this thing?
Well, in 1969 & 1970, Chrysler used a 13-figure VIN at least on the passenger cars. For this configuration of the VIN, the sixth figure (a digit) was the year (9 = 1969; 0 = 1970, etc.).
In the early 1960's, Chrysler used a 10-digit VIN at least for the passenger cars. For this configuration, the third digit was the year (2 = 1962; 4 = 1964, etc.). You can make things simple for us by just posting the VIN for this truck and let us figure it out.
