Not Starting

My 1991 subird le 2.0L will not start or even try to start, not even a clicking noise for when trying to start. i had just put on new starter, i have gotten eletrical schematics and it shows the ignition wire running to the park/ neutral switch on transmission. i have power to alternator and stuff . its just that when i go to start the car it is not getting any power through purple/ignition wire. when i got my new head gasket on and it would try starting but then slip so when i went to remove old starter i forgott to disconnect the battery cabble (cause i thought i had it out of car), and when i went to take the battery cabble part off on the starter just a big spark flashed in front of me cause i touched the rachet to mettal. I get all lights and other stuff on in car. my dad and i jumped the ignition bolt to battery bolt on starter and car tried starting. do you guys think i could have shorted something out in the ecm? cause the electrical scematics show the purple wire running to the brake switch and then to the ecm (i think) and then to the switch on the transmission.
do you guys think i could have shorted something out in the ecm?

Re: Not Starting

are both cables good and clean? or you might have blown fuse or you may have burnt a fusable link down by starter but always take neg. cable of first...
