Flickering interior lights

I've got a '97 Tahoe with an annoying problem. The other night while driving, my dome light flashed on and off everytime I hit a bump in the road. I can't say for sure if any other bulbs lit, becausethe dome light would catch my attention first. I can hear what sounds like a relay clicking in the dash area each time. No doors, nor rear tailgate were ajar. The interior light switch was in a normal mode, but if memory serves me, this happened some time ago when I had the dome overide button on. I'm thinking that the switch itself may be defective, but don't want to just change it to find out. Has anybody else experienced this problem and found the cause?

Re: Flickering interior lights

Same problem. The dome light was erratic but is now out for good. The right headlight is now erratic. The disease is spreading. Any clues?

Update - After spending an hour or so in the cold, was able to determine that the problem with the dome light is the left door jamb switch. I also realized that all of the door courtesy lights and the door open alarm were not working as well. I jiggled switch and everything came back. Will likely need to be replaced. The headlight is still a mystery. I banged it this morning and it came on temporarily, no luck since. It's not very accessible. Will need to remove it to get access to the connector.

Re: Flickering interior lights

Thank's Gary:
I'll do some checking to my door switches to see if I can find a problem among them.
