Need help finding EST wire 91 Caprice
I've been trying to find the Electric Spark Timing wire for my 91 Caprice but haven't had any luck. I did run across a wire connecting to block on the passanger side. It's in the very back. I'm working on getting it out right now and i'm doing it out of sheer hope that it's the cable. If anyone can help me i'd be most apreciated. 1991 Chevrolet Caprice 9c1 VIN 7. Thanks!

Look on the passenger side fender well. Brown wire with a black stripe I believe. Should have a GM weatherpack connector that you can disconnect.

Re: Need help finding EST wire 91 Caprice
Ok I figured it out. I couldn't find the EST plug so what I did was cut the EST from the connector going to the Ignition Control Module. I didn't take a pic but if anyone in the future is having problems finding the EST on their Caprices i'd strongly recommend doing it the way I did.
![]() I cut wire B on the distributor 4 terminal connector (shown on top right for set timing). From there I basically made my own connector to replace the one i couldn't find. |
