Thumbs down Mazda buyers, specifically 626.....BEWARE!

For newbies to Mazda, specifically 626.....BEWARE, money pit!

The parts for this car are atrociously priced. e.g. spark plug wires $216 (**normally $30) ;valve cover gaskets for v6, $268 (** $35), and the average sensor (coolant) is 100 to 500% more than a normal North American car, e.g. Regal coolant sensor $12, Mazda $70, AND no one stocks 'em.....wait minimun 3 days.

I got rid of mine the day after I bought it....good riddance!

Caveat emtor, buyer beware.

Re: Mazda buyers, specifically 626.....BEWARE!

I agree with the original poster on this, no matter the year, I bought a 93 needing some minor work (lifters) several months ago and still it sits in front of my house because the lifters for it are so expensive (over $40.00 each!), I'm waiting untill I can find some used ones in good condition for a decent price or I get tired of looking at it and junk the thing.
Everything else in the car is in good condition but even if I do get it repaired it will be sold very soon after and I will never buy another.
From what I have read in the old Mazda forum posts the ignition "dist" parts are expensive and fail often just as the lifters do, plus there's just as many problems with the auto trans in these cars, "though the one I bought has a newer 5 speed manual".
I have already searched every junkyard for miles around me for the lifters and every car has already had them removed along with the dist.
I wouldn't own another Mazda product even if they were giving them away.
