Tires?
I'm thinking of changing my tires because in my opinion these stock tires suck! I want to get all season tires. I'm not a strict performance driver. I want decent snow traction. (I'm in Connecticut) Handling is my most important property. I'm considering the following tires in order of preference: Bridgestone Potenza Re950, Sumitomo HTR+, Falken Ziex 502, Falken Ziex 512, and Bridgestone Potenza Re910. The local tire dealer is trying to sell me on Toyo Proxes FZ4s. He's telling me those are the best tires. I'm not convinced. Has anybody out there put any of these tires on the Spec V? How are they? Buy again? Any opinions or recommendations on what I should get?

Hi, I used to have an acura 1.6 EL and I had toyo Proxes FZ4 tires on it. On dry pavement they are not too bad but there is much better. In the rain they are very slippery, very bad traction. In the winter I used to put winter tires on my acura, but sometimes I'd change them late in the season. I tried the toyo tires in a little bit of snow and they were so bad I was scared to myself.
So my opinion is don't by those tires. I don't buy all season tires anymore so I can't tell you witch ones are better. |

Falken tires are generally heavier due to their thick side walls. The Potenza's I heard are very sticky but get wasted pretty fast. It you are into handling, go for the falkens, they are cheap and have good performance in both wet and dry according to a test done by best motoring. They are not the longest lasting tires and they'll probably take some speed away for the handling because of the weight.
