hey guys whatsup

I've been looking at these for awhile now also!!!!!!!!!!
It looks like a VERY quality kit, i wish i were more mechanically inclined tho, cause i dont know if i am ready to pay $2900 for the kit alone, and still have to pay for install...

Believe it or not, i actually have a local speed shop, here in SD, and i've been quoted $3200 for this kit, installed...not a bad deal, but everything is cheaper here anyway...

I'm not sure if this kit comes with all these features, but the only way i'd pay $2900 for a kit is if it comes with full intercooler, blow-off valve, wastegate, and all necessary electronics to control the boost, and fuel..

ask me any questions, i might know, i have many hours to waste at work, this is when i research

Peace

No! No! No! I have been doing a lot of research on turbo kits for my teg. I have found that greddy is not the best. It does not have a intercooler and it isn't as good... take a look at these pages.

www.turbokits.com

Arg.. Lemmi go look at my computer and I will get you some more. But don't get a greddy..

This is another something I found

Well. There used to be a website (www.exospeed.com) that would absolutely rule. But they shut down. Look for the following kits

Drag Gen III (don't get gen I or gen II because there must be a reason they upgraded their components to gen III... and I don't wanna find out why)

fmax turbos (www.turbokits.com sells those)

To get a intercooler on a Greddy you would have to pay an additional grand or so. Just isn't worth it. They claim that you lose significant pressure so they don't include them. It's kinda true... you lose pressure about 1 psi, but that isn't significant. Another thing that is worth looking at is the intake manifold gasket for sale by www.hondata.com. It keeps your intake manifold from getting firey hot from the engine and keeps the charge cooler.

My 2 cents...

yeah GReddy is ok.. I had it on my Accord, but for the money if I could do it again I'd go for Drag III or FMax.. in fact, thats what I am getting on my teg

Wow. I feel good. This is the first time I have actually added something important to this forum instead of just asking people questions and leaching knowledge.

Ya for me.

No no, it doesn't affect your VTEC. You might be hearing that it's better to turbo an LS engine, stock for stock. But with both engines built the B18C1 will prevail. It's mostly because the B18B1 has lower compression, enabling higher boost to be run. Also, the cams in an LS will spool the turbo faster. And the gearing in an LS teg is better for turbo. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't turbo a GSR. It still makes good power, but you need good engine and fuel management to run higher boost on pump gas.

For every .5:1 compression lost it's about 8-10 HP. So your stock GSR has 10:1 compression, drop it down to 9:1 and your looking at 20 HP less. Thats very noticeable, but it will pay off by being able to run twice as much boost. Actually, you still can't run more than 14 PSI because the cylinder walls crack or start moving around. So find 9:1 pistons, also get aftermarket rods -EAGLE makes good ones, and run 14 PSI and you should make about 300 HP.

Yes 14 PSI is the ''safe limit''. 15 PSI is not advisable but still doable.
As for LS/VTEC -it costs too much to have it done right, but it gives good gains. I have never heard any LS/VTEC lasting very long on a daily driver. Yes you can turbo it but that makes things worse. Only if you got gobs of money you want to do ls/vtec.
