Re: Stripping Paint

I've always used FAQ to strip my models. Works in seconds, strips ANYTHING and is safe for the enviroment. I SEARCHED hi and low and nothing worked for me like FAQ. You should try some....

All time best

Bill and Gio

@ Automodeli:
This IS a mature forum which is why we expect new members to make use of the search function and read this and this before asking questions.
Why? Because you will find many of the answers you are looking for by yourself.

Of course, not all the answers are there and you should always feel free to ask questions if you are still in doubt. However, please don't be surprised if you get sarcastic replies if you ask questions without doing that first - especially when you ask a question that gets posted about once per week

As far as sarcastic answers go, believe me this was one of the mildest and funniest ever so you you should appreciate it

I'm sure you have a sense of humor so take it all as it was meant - tongue in cheek. Read the links I gave you, start building and sharing your work and enjoy AF and the great people here

Chill pill time
I gave the link to the FAQ here on AF(I have them in my signature so that I don't need to link them everytime this comes up). Gibberish, hrm...speechless (is my English really that poor?). Most members who have been here for a long time, ie: a year or more, tend to get fed up when newcomers don't search or even read the basic rules/FAQ/ how-to's. Read and learn, this place is the best modeling forum I know of. My skills have maybe quadrupled in the past 2 years due to this site.

gionc My sides are splitting Did you make that pic? You da man!

Steve

You can use Isopropyl Alcohol to strip your model. It won't harm the plastic and will gently remove the paint. It's available at most chemist shops or electronics shops.Place it into a container with a sealed lid,put your parts for stripping into the 'bath' of Isopropyl, seal the lid and leave it overnight.Next day give the parts a scrub with an old toothbrush and this will remove the paint. What type of paint are you stripping?

I think folks are getting tired of seeing threads about the same subject over-and-over, especially when it's a topic that has been covered so comprehensively both on the forums and in the FAQ in the past.

The other guys are having a laugh at your expense. The FAQ refered to is the Frequently Asked Questions section on the forum where you will find answers to most of the common questions relating to the modelling hobby in general. Here is a link to the FAQ page FAQ

To answer your question the Isopropyl Alcohol will easily strip the paint in question on your bodyshell. An overnight soak followed by a scrub with an old toothbrush will work wonders and it won't harm the plastic.
