Hey guys, how long has your audi lasted and how much has it cost to upkeep it? Ive heard the engines and belts give out after about 100k. Can anyone help me with this?

Re: Engine issues?
it will last way beyond 100k as long as you keep up your preventive maintenance and belts will give out on any car at that mileage ..as far as engines giving out at 100k is just crap maybe if you beat on it and don't take care of it then ok , whoever told you that don't know sh*t ..

Re: Engine issues?
How much money does it cost when you need to replace the belts and pumps? Also, I herad audi carges 100.00/hr to work on your car. Is this true? Can anybody other than audi work on it?

Re: Engine issues?
idk what it cost to have it replaced i work on my own car so i just par for parts which i get at pretty much shop price (helps to work in a shop) .. yah dealer rapes you on labor but thats standard shop rate its actually $90/hr .. if your going to do something like serpentine belt and you dont know how go get yourself a repair manual . you can pick one up at any auto parts store , fairly simple took me like 10 mins to do mine i have the 2.8 in my '96 .. if you dont want to or dont feel like you could doit yourself take it somewhere other than dealer for the simple stuff like belts , but as far as electrical components go like starter , alternator ,etc.. use dealer parts better off ..
