Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

im starting to look at new digital cameras...since the one i use is literally starting to crack and i dont know how long it is going to last.

Alot of you guys seem like you know a decent amount about digital cameras w/ the excellent pictures you take, so i figured this would be a great place to ask.

$100 is my spending cap

In my personal opinion, getting electronics from Wal-Mart is a bad idea. However, if I was to choose, I'd go for the Kodak C433 only because I never heard from this particular one. You can do just as good with a 4mp camera. Just my .

I kinda agree with hobbes in that getting Wal-Mart is NOT a good idea! But I don't think getting a Kodak is a good idea either since as far as I know, the company went out of business a while ago which means, you'll get virtually no customer support and upgrades etc...
Personally, I would say save a little more and buy something that you know you'll be satisfied longer, something like a Olympus/Canon/Panasonic 6~8 MP digital camera for about $200~$250. Or if you could wait even longer, I think you'll be able to buy a 10 MP camera for about that price in a year or two.

I wasn't thinking about Olympus. Hmmm...

If you are getting this online then I would suggest Newegg.com. They have some good chioces in your price range and they ship quickly. You can choose from this list here. If anyone else have other sites then please share...

Re: Is this a good camera for the price?!?!? all help appreciated!

I'm no expert in these things, but that seems like a good choice. (I even asked my brother about this.) All you need is a rechargeable battery and some memory and you're set. This camera already has some memory built in but I don't think it would be enough especially if you plan on using it for trips...

Kodak is definetly not out of business and continues to be a leader in digital camera technolgy. As a retired field engineer for Kodak that continues to do contract work and consulting for the company I should know. I just spent the last month installing new digital photo quality printers at the Rite-Aide chain. The Kodak cameras are as good as you can get and the EasyShare softwarwe is robust and easy to use. If you have problems with a Kodak you should go here first: http://kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.j...requestid=6888 and if you still can't find what you need contact me with a private message on here.

you can get a 6mp fuji!!! A600 for $99.95 or the A500 for less. Maybe it's the A400 but it's better than that!

Oops my bad then!!! I really thought I read somewhere in an article that they did (or were going to?) but obviously you know more than I do since you worked for them. Maybe they closed their business in certain parts of the world? Jeez I wish I could find the article where I read this from...
P.S. I do have a Kodak camera (bought for $150) so I was in no way trying to dis the company. I apologize for my mistake, really.
