Hello there.
I just bought a very nice 1990 corvette convertible, and I have a very silly question. How do you lower the convertible top? I have released both of the levers that attach to the front windshield, but that is as far as I have gotten. there is a button to push in the center console and behind the drivers seat, but I am not sure what to do after that to lower and raise the top. Silly question I know, but with nicer weather comming soon to Colorado, I would love to drive with the top down. Thanks in advance, Michael in Colorado Last edited by unclescrooge 1954; 02-15-2007 at 08:32 PM. Reason: misspealled words |

Re: 1990 corvette convertible question?
Steps to lower top.
Find that handle/lever pull under rear hatch (close to the rear driver side push button. - pull rear lever handle (it's cable driven and pops the rear of the rag top up) - live rear of rag top with one hand when loose - push rear driver side button (it's electric and pops rear hatch) - lift rear hatch up and clear of top. - pull front levers and raise front of top. - close front levers so they don't get in way - slowly fold front of rag top back and into rear trunk - check all is clear and close rear hatch pushing down on both sides to latch - done To put up roof - push rear drive side button (electic one) - lift rear hatch up. - pull up front of rag top to front of car. - swing front levers open and pull top down as you close levers locked. - close down rear hatch and click closed - close down rear rag top and push both sides to lock in place - done * There are also side interior flaps held in by velcro (behind seats). You may be able to open and close top with them as-is but I typically unvelcro them to make it an easier fit in the trunk. |
