Re: 2007 Tundra

I am a little jealous of the new Tundra's. I have been a chevy guy for years, but I am not against Toyota's. I just never cared for there design.

Re: 2007 Tundra

I have a 2007 Tundra 5.7 Double Cab purchased September 2008. It has 12000 miles on it. I tow different trailers regularly. I have towed a 18' gooseneck (3200# + over 8,000# on the trailer) for over 175 miles. The gas mileage was 11.5MPG on the flat and ended up 8.7 in the mountains near Cumberland MD. On the return triop empty, I got over 12.5MPG at about 75-80 MPH. I also tow a fifth wheel camper that weighs about 8000#. It gets around 10 MPG when towing it. With a tandem axle 6.5' x 14' open trailer, expect 12-14 MPG (full and empty).
When you are travelling without a trailer, expect 15-18 MPG, depending on your driving style and conditions. On a trip to Richmond VA (225 miles), I averaged 17.7 MPG while averaging about 70 MPH. It was aver 18 until I got a few mountains.
There is plenty of power and good braking with a smooth ride.
Hope that answers your questions.

Re: 2007 Tundra

I get around 17, its a great truck. I had the previous body style Tundra and ended up kind of hating it. It was slow and had a very stiff ride and could not tow all the much. I was planning on going back to Chevy (I absolutely loved the 8.1 liter engine I had in my Suburban) but I test drove the new Tundra and was sold.
