Intermittent 1260 code...

'98 XLT with intermittent starting problem. Sometimes it works fine, others it just won't start.

I know the code is for the anti-theft system, but is there any way around it? Can something be bypassed or eliminated to get me going again?

Re: Intermittent 1260 code...

What is the code prefix (P, B, etc.)?

Assuming this is a P1260, the factory service manual says to repair all PATS diagnostic codes prior to troubleshooting this code.

To access the PATS codes, you will need to find a high-end scan tool that can access the PATS system.
