Changed Battery, no audio or remote systems, no fire in fuse box?
Advance Auto changed the battery the other day. I noticed radio was out. I figured a fuse so no problem at the time. I also noticed the remote was not working. I let it go for a few days.
Checked it out today. There is no fire in the 30 amp for the security or the 15 amp marked Audio on the upper left of fuse box. Where am I missing the fire? Surely something is blown on the outside of the firewall???? Any and all suggestions are welcome. I have checked for fire at the back of the radio and in the fuse box. Really need to get this corrected. Thanks again.

Sounds like something didn't get connected back up. What is the make and year of your vehicle?

Autozone looked at it today and said it was maybe the computer due to a short when the battery was put in. Is there a way for me to reset this computer? They told me to take it to the dealership!
Help!

I've been looking at the wiring diagram and there is a 10 amp fuse designated as "Room". It supplies current to the memory of your radio and supplies current to your remote system. Also, there is a 15 amp radio fuse you could check for the radio. My best guess is the 10 amp "room" fuse has blown.
You can reset the computer by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 15 minutes..

Thanks for a response. This room fuse, is it on the fuse panel inside the car or is it on the outside of the firewall? Thanks again for the help. I will check this as soon as I get back from church and it warms up a little.

YES! Great call! I missed the small break in that fuse. All is working again. Now its just the costly matter of putting in a new radio an conversion kit. I used everything but a crowbar to get it out when I was following fuses. I had the two holders on the right side that would not let go so of course, MORE POWER!
Well now its more money! Thanks again for catching my oversite! Joe

You need a special tool to remove radios in Fords. The tool costs less than five dollars and is available anywhere car stereos are sold. If you broke the clips, good luck at finding inexpensive replacements.
