Angry Temperature and coolent problem

I have a 94 2.3 sohc
I was leaking coolent out of the water pump and over heating so i changed the water pump and themostat got it back togather and flushed the coolent system with water than flush and than water again (refilled with anti-freeze)the problem is i only got about a gallon out of fluid out of the car the other thing is i now don't run a constant temp one time its 150 deg the next time it is 220 deg and sometime its all over the place. the one thing i have noticed is the fan isn't kicking in at all any help would be great

Welcome to AF.

You probly have an air pocket in the cooling system.
Make sure you turn the heater on and get the engine good and warmed up while you are filling it .

Also the rad fans come on at 230 deg.
