New to celicas...need some advice plz

Ok so i'm new to the whole world of celicas but i catch on pretty quick. As of now i have a 91 integra LS and its just not doing the job.i was gonna stick with honda but i've always kinda had a thing for celicas.

I know that i want a 2000+ model (7th gen i believe) and i want a GT-S.
I just have a few questions such as what are some quick upgrades i can do to give it some additional power such as I/H/E and what are the best ones to choose. So i don't have something that sounds like a civic hatch flying down the road with its exhaust screaming while its going 30 mph. Basically i don't want anything ricey.

And also what else could i be looking at farther down the like. For example cams, pistons, pulleys etc.

Also if any1 knows about how much hp those upgrades will boost it i would greatly appreciate it.
