2003 LS Climate Control Seats

Well Happy Valentines day to you all.... I wish I could say that mine has started out Great. Went to the gas station, 2 miles to E, fuel door would not release, I think it was frozen, so I opened the trunk to pull the emergency release..... still stuck.... got back in the car, spilled HALF a large cup of Hot Chocolate in the passanger seat..... , cleaned it up as fast as I could, then tried the lever again... no clicking sound or anything... so tried the trunk one more time and it opened. Two questions, is there a Solenoid or something for the gas tank door and WHAT do I do about the COCO. Anyone ever had this happen, well maybe not with COCO, but any drink. My first thought was to turn on the cool or heat to help it dry out.. Hubby said to let it be and dry on its own.... just thought I would seek sugestions. Have a Great Day!!

Re: 2003 LS Climate Control Seats

There is a fuel door release solenoid located near the fuel door behind the trunk liner. The solenoid is forward of the Rear Electronic Module. Guess you need to check for power to the solenoid. If no power there when the button is pressed, then make sure the button has power. No power to the button = check fuses. The fuse for the door is fuse F4.04 in the battery junction box (10A). The fuel door release switch retails for around $12, the release solenoid retails for around $74.

Don't know what to tell you on the seats. I agree that you probably don't want to activate the climate system to attempt to dry out the liquid as there is a circulation blower motor in the seat which may be damaged if you apply power to it and it is sitting in a pool.

Your best bet would probably be to stop by a automotive interior shop and let them disassemble the seat, dry out and clean the cushion, etc.
