Completed Mercedes 230 G Paris-Dakar

I started this as a challange to build it during the Paris Dakar rally this year. But it took a bit longer, almost a month longer. It's a pretty good kit even if some stuff is missing, the instructions are wrong and there is a lot of sink marks. But there is one thing that makes up for all the problems, the decals made by Cartograf. I love those decals they just go on so easy.

I have added a toolbox, a tire rack with two spare wheels and rally seats with four point harneses. I also scratch build a roll cage and opened the rear doors so you can see everything inside.

I 'm speechless. I 'd never thought this kit would look this good built up by somebody who can. Extremely good weathering and ageing!

Superb!

WOW. You really made something out of this rather bland kit.
Congratulations.

Wow, that kit looks great. I might have to pick up that kit... I have a picture I drew of a Safari G-Wagon that might be able to fit that kit.

Here's a thumbnail of what I drew, in case you are interested:

Wow, what a cool model. This is the first one I have seen and it's great. What you did inside the open doors is excellent. Great job all around.

Lovely! I was waiting to see how this would look when you were done. Awesome job with the weathering. I have this one in my pile and I noticed you had some reference photos on your WIP page, did you by chance find any other reference pics? If so, could you let me know where you got them? Thanks a bunch!

That looks very nice! I like the grille guard !

Really nice job! I love the subtle weathering you applied and all the tyres and the tool box in the back which all adds to the realism.Nice job applying all those decals as well.
