My friend has a 1998 Ford Tauras, stock. When he shifts the Transmission jolts and it acts like it wants to stall. Could anyone help diagonose what would be causing this or what he should do. Thanks

Re: Jolting in Transmisson
Does your friend's problem sound similar to what's posted here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=672458?
If not, can you elaborate more? Is it only when shifting from a stop to drive, does the engine run fine otherwise? When was the last tune up performed? Which engine does your friend's Taurus have? -Rod |

Re: Jolting in Transmisson
i'll get some more info tomarrow from him at school. Thanks For the help though. I believe its the 3.0 V6, stock motor in the 98 Taurus. And it runs fine otherwise i think.

Re: Jolting in Transmisson
The V-6 can either be a 3.0L 24V (Duratech) or 3.0L 12V (Vulcan).
