cleaning chrome
so i mentioned awhile back that what looked like rust had appeared on my rims from the de-icer in the winter. i took some turtlewax chrome polish to them a couple times and it didnt seem to help much. is there anything else i can do or am i SOL in this case and just have to get them re-chromed?
... i wonder if i can get the state to compensate the damage? lol

Re: cleaning chrome
Ok, at our detail shop we used to use steel wool to clean chrome. However the area must be SOAKING WET. You gotta keep spraying it with windex...if one bit dries up, you will scratch the wheels. That's just a suggestion, so try it at your own risk. Also I dunno if it will work on our stock chrome plated wheels as well as real chrome...but you have aftermarket wheels...so I guess it's a moot point. Anyway, just seriously do so at your own risk, because you can scratch the wheels if you don't keep them soaked.
There is also a detailing section, under 'cars in general' on the main AF page. You might wanna ask for suggestions there.
