I have just gotten a 97 grand prix se about four days ago. the car has been running like a top no forseeable problems. Then tonight I started the car and went on my marry way---it sounded and acted like it wanted to die. I got through the light and then to the parking lot accross the street and it died also the check engine light came on. I have a habit to watch the thermostat of older cars(bad experience) and there appeared to be no problem with that. I tried to start the car and it would crank and immediately die. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 97 Grand Prix help!!!!!!!!(please)
I had my 1997 GP GT do something similar and it was the throttle position sensor.
Take it some where and have them read the code for the engine light. |

Quote:
My ex-girlfriend paid $400 to have the indicator replaced on her '98 Jimmy. I think she got ripped off even though the gas tank had to be dropped.
